Heading into a long weekend is always something to look forward to. If you're looking for some great things to get up to, here are our Top 5 Events to check out this Labour Day long weekend!!

1. ZooNights

They're keeping the zoo open late Friday and Saturday evening from 5 - 8 PM so you can enjoy your favourite animals and the beautiful Calgary Zoo grounds a little longer. Be sure to grab a delicious bento box and a cold adult bevy as well! Whether you make it a date night or you bring the whole family, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

When: September 3 & 4, 5 - 8 PM
Where: The Calgary Zoo

2. Fiesta Filipino Calgary 2021

Fiesta Filipino is the biggest and most colorful street party that showcases the vibrant Filipino and Asian Communities in Alberta. Experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Filipino culture and heritage this long weekend.

When: September 4 & 5, 10 AM - 10 PM
Where: Olympic Plaza

3. Heritage Park - Market Nights

Market Nights are free at Heritage Park this long weekend! Enjoy shopping at local artisan booths and in Heritage Park's Haskayne Mercantile Block shops.  Sample beverages courtesy of local producers and grab a bite at the Railway Café, Harvey’s Confectionery, or on the Selkirk patio.   

When: Friday Sept 3, 5 - 9 PM & Saturday Sept 4, 3 - 9 PM
Where: Heritage Park's Haskayne Mercantile Block

(The park is also open daily, 10 am to 5 pm, until September 6th.) 

4. Canmore Highland Games

 Canmore Highland Games’ 30th-anniversary festival will feature Live Celtic Music, Pipes & Drums, Dance demonstrations, Heavy Sports, Sheep Dogs, Tug O War, food and drink Vendors, a Celtic Market, Scotch Tasting and much more!

Saturday evening, the Taste of the Highlands Food and Drink Festival will feature regional Wine, Beer, and Scotch Whisky vendors in The Wild Rose Festival Tent.

When: Sept 4 & 5
Where: Various locations throughout Canmore

5.  Calgary Farmyard

Check out the Calgary Farmyard before the end of the summer season. It has many family friendly activities for everyone, including a petting corral, pony rides, mini golf and a corn maze. You can also snack on treats like mini doughnuts, kettle corn fudge and jumbo hot dogs while you’re there.

When: Friday - Monday (Sept 3 - 6), 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
